One Margo connection, useful prospect evidence
Margo gives your agent structured prospect research so you can decide which prospects deserve your selling time. Search local businesses, professionals, or Shopify stores where your account has access. Review observable fit, available contact details, source evidence and limitations before choosing a next step.
Use the remote MCP endpoint https://www.margoleads.io/mcp with an eligible Business account and verified email. Sign in to Margo in your browser and approve the requested permissions. You can disconnect the agent from Margo at any time. Research searches use your existing credits; connecting does not buy credits.

Custom app availability and administrator permissions depend on your ChatGPT account and workspace. This setup uses a custom connection; an app-directory listing is a separate distribution option.

Start with a precise research question
The agent checks capabilities and quota, then starts a search with a stable request ID and an agreed maximum credit amount. It polls the same job until Margo returns a terminal result. Retrying that search keeps the same request ID.
Maps supports city research. LinkedIn and Shopify searches use country targeting; the agent must disclose any broader geography. Shopify availability depends on your account. Contact fields and source evidence can be missing, and results can be partial or empty.

Developer API keys and workflow automation
Clients that support bearer authentication can use an existing Margo API key in their secure credential settings. Keep keys out of prompts, source files and shared configuration. OAuth avoids copying a key for supported interactive clients.
n8n remains useful for scheduled workflows and downstream routing through its HTTP Request nodes. Use the REST API and polling example when the workflow calls for that automation.
Frequently asked questions
Does connecting an agent cost credits?
Connecting, checking capabilities and reading job status do not start paid research. A search uses credits under your current Margo policy, with the maximum cost checked before execution.
Will Margo send messages to prospects?
These MCP tools research prospects. They do not send outreach or establish confirmed buying intent, budget, authority or timing.
Can I disconnect an agent?
Yes. Open Connected AI agents in Margo and disconnect its OAuth grant. API keys are managed separately in your account settings.
